Oiler

The oil set is complete; some enamel chips are missing on the spout and wall, and under the bottom. It is pear-shaped, with a bulging wall, a rounded shoulder, and a long, slightly constricted neck topped by a straight rim with a flat top; the rim has a small pouring spout. The foot is solid and octagonal; the underside is unglazed. It is fitted with a vertical handle, attached to the neck, under the rim, and to the wall; it has a semi-oval cross-section and its lower part features a triangular tail. The decoration is molded and hand-painted, traced and painted in dark blue underglaze and red overglaze. It is mantled and vegetal in style. The molded decoration is impressed on the wall and neck, which are panelled. The neck and wall are decorated, as is the handle. The neck and upper half of the wall feature two alternately repeated decorations. There is a vertical tongue-shaped mantling with a blue background and reserved decoration. Its ends are decorated with Chinese Ruyi head scrolls, which delimit leaves in reserve decorated with red veins. The other decoration is in the form of a spearhead in reserve; it is adorned with a drapery traced and painted in blue, surmounted by a conical head and bearing, near its base, a flower traced and painted in red and surrounded by foliage traced and painted in blue. The base is decorated with two quarters of leaves in reserve on a blue background, with red radiating lines. The foot is adorned with a wide fillet painted in blue. The face of the handle is decorated with oriental-style scrolls and acanthus leaves in blue.
