The pot is made of terracotta and has a pewter lid attached to it. The pot is complete. The pot is circular in shape and follows the cross-section of a barrel. The foot is in line with the wall and has a wide, flat, glaze-free base. The bottom is recessed and flat. At the top, the jar has a small, angular shoulder and a small, circular, recessed neck with a flat top. The body is beige in color; the body color is apparent on the inside of the pot and under the bottom. The jar is fitted with a pewter lid, complete with fastening hardware. The lid itself is circular in shape, with an almost flat top and a small gripping knob at the top: it has a conical head, a constricted body and a swollen base. At the front, the lid has a small oval indentation, and at the opposite end, the lid is fitted with a small horizontal hinge. One wing of the hinge is attached to the lid, while the other is linked to the upper front of the handle. The handle is vertical, and has a flat cross-section. It is ear-shaped, with a double horizontal bulge at the top; its two ends are curved outwards. The handle is connected to the pot by two horizontal rings; the upper ring covers the rim of the pot and rests on the shoulder, while the other is slid into a horizontal groove on the lower portion of the wall; the decoration is visible on the outer wall. It consists of clouds of iron oxide mixed with a colorless glaze. The decoration imitates agateware, a ceramic developed in England in the second quarter of the 18th century.
