Historical context
La première émission radiophonique d’Amérique du Nord est diffusée à Montréal le 20 mai 1920 par la station XWA, inaugurant l’ère de la radio au Québec et au Canada. En 1922, le journal La Presse fonde la station CKAC, qui devient le premier poste francophone du continent. Par la suite, toute une série de stations et de réseaux nationaux, continentaux ou internationaux est créée.
