Jar
Rouen earthenware “Jeanne Mance” pharmacy jar or apothecary jar. It features a round foot and a short, narrow neck, topped by a long, slender body. The whole is covered with a pale blue glaze and decorated with dark blue floral motifs. Under the foot, a signature in the same blue as the decoration. Presence of the G de Guillibaud mark (late 17th or early 18th century).

Historical context
This pharmacy or apothecary jar, known as a pot canon, dates back to the French Regime, between the late 17th and early 18th centuries. During this period, these jars were found in hospital pharmacies and apothecary stalls. They were used to store solid remedies, such as balms and ointments, as well as ingredients used in the preparation of medicines.
