Enameled display jar from The American Fluid Beef Company. White in color, it features an external metal and glass gauge, ending in a spigot. On the front, inscriptions are molded and painted blue.

Historical context

The American Fluid Beef Company is a Canadian company founded in Montreal in 1899 by Sydney Daiguault. It manufactures and markets Beefene, a thick, salty, liquid beef extract. In the first decade of the 20th century, numerous advertisements appeared in Montreal newspapers such as La Presse. Among other things, they extolled the product’s nutritional properties and its beneficial effects on sporting activities.
