Jar
The jar is complete. It is cylindrical in shape. It has a straight wall, an angular shoulder and a straight cylindrical neck. The neck has a swollen lip with an almost flat top. The inside of the neck has slightly raised threads (pas-de-vis). The base is in line with the wall and beveled. The base is flat with off-center concentric rings. The body is beige in color and covered with a very pale beige glaze. The entire outer surface is pitted with small holes; there is a flaw in the glaze on the wall in one place. There is an intaglio mark in an oval cartouche above the base, in three registers: SKEY 8 TAMWORTH ; The decoration is molded in relief. At the top of the wall is a horizontal groove decorated with a string of pearls. The base of the neck features a wide, shallow groove. The liquid glaze gives the surface a shiny appearance.
