Inkwell

The inkwell is complete, with only a few chips missing from some of its corners. It is cruciform, with a flat top and base. In cross-section, the rim of its top and base are swollen. The walls are straight, while the corners are concave. The center of the top is pierced by a large circular aperture; near the edge, four smaller circular apertures are arranged crosswise. The underside is flat and glaze-free. The body is pinkish-beige with quartz inclusions. The glaze is white and glossy; the decoration is hand-painted and sponge-applied in polychrome of blue, green, yellow, orange and violet underglaze. The pattern is geometric. The decoration is applied to the top of the inkwell and to its outer wall. The top is decorated with a blue sponge. The top of the walls and corners are filleted in orange. The walls and corners feature the same elements on both sides: a curved purple fillet on a yellow background, with a small blue pearl at the top and a green oval at the base; the fillet borders four superimposed curved lines painted in blue and orange, on which two curved purple lines are painted.
