Historical context
Le baudrier est à la base un accessoire militaire utilisé depuis l’Antiquité, notamment chez les Romains. Il se portait en bandoulière ou à la taille et servait généralement à accrocher divers instruments, tels un glaive, une épée, un drapeau ou un tambour. De nos jours, il joue un rôle cérémoniel chez des organisations civiles, notamment chez les Chevaliers de Colomb.
