Gravy boat holder

The stand is complete. It is rectangular in shape, with rounded corners and pinched edges in places. In cross-section, it has a slightly inward-sloping wing; the base of the wall curves towards the bottom, which rests on a solid oval foot. The underside of the base is recessed and flat. The reverse is stained with iron rust; the decoration is molded and transferred printed in blue. It is of the English rural landscape type. The molded decoration is visible in the form of small grooves on the rim, at the corners of the support. The printed decoration can be seen on the wing, on the wall and on the inner base. The decoration on the wing extends over the wall; it’s a wide ribbon with a blue crosshatched background, bordered at the top and base by a twisted cord in reserve, the one at the sock being slightly narrower. The ribbon is decorated with a row of flowers and leaves in reserve, in alternating groups. The background decoration, which extends slightly over the wall, is a landscape scene with a body of water. The foreground is composed of a solid bank with an undulating top; it is lined with tufts of grass, a small section of fence and a group of stakes set in the ground; there is also a shaded man seen from behind. Near him, in the water, is another man seen from the front, standing in a small rectangular boat, holding a fishing line in his hands. On the river, which is largely cross-hatched, there is a similar boat supporting two men. The river has a fork that is crossed by a single-arched stone bridge. The other bank is covered with grass, symbolized by dots, and a sloping area with sheep in reserve. There are also shrubs and trees, as well as buildings on three levels, including a thatched cottage, a manor house and what appears to be a church. The rendering of the decor is clear. The decoration on the wing is applied asymmetrically. The cut-out on the wing is visible.
