Gravy boat

The gravy boat is complete, with a few chips missing from the top. It is pear-shaped, with an undulating rim at the top; the wider end features a vertical handle, while the other end extends into a long, oval-shaped pouring spout. In cross-section, the wall is domed and curves towards the pedestal, which has an undulating contour and a glaze-free base. The base is recessed and flat. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a bluish-white enamel; there are flaws in the outer enamel. There is a mark painted in blue under the bottom: T.; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in dark blue and black underglaze. It is of the compartmented and vegetal braid type. The molded decoration is visible on the handle and on the wall. The handle is shaped like an antler. The wall is decorated on the outside with small vertical ribs in places. The decoration is painted on the handle, outer wall and pedestal. The handle is painted dark blue, with the exception of a small triangular area on the inside, close to the wall. The decoration on the wall is below the rim, halfway up, and at its junction with the pedestal. The decoration below the rim is a wavy fillet in blue, followed by a wavy braid in black. The braid is adorned with three alternately repeated motifs. One is in reserve on a blue-painted background: it consists of two half-leaves separated by a scroll, outlined in black; these flowers are adorned with radiating lines outlined in black. Another motif is a latticework drawn in black and trimmed with blue-painted pearls. These two motifs are separated by a half-flower traced in black and painted blue; it is set in two arched bands traced in black and painted blue, while the sides are in reserve. The wall is decorated with a row of leafy stems, outlined in black and painted blue. A fillet is painted blue at its junction with the pedestal. The outer face of the pedestal is decorated with a horizontal band, followed by a fillet bordering a row of semicircles drawn in black and topped with a blue-painted pearl.
