Gadroon dish

The plate is complete, except for a small missing edge; a break has been repaired with iron studs. It is circular in shape, with an undulating rim. The wing is domed and wide, and the wall slopes towards the bottom; the base is slightly domed. On the reverse, the dish rests on a circular foot, connected to the bottom by a short, narrow ring, with a partially flat, beveled base; the flat part is partially unglazed. The center is recessed and flat. The body is a pinkish-beige color, and the object is covered with a white enamel. There are three traces of a pernette in a triangular pattern on the reverse. The dish has been repaired with three spikes made from a double iron rod; their ends are bent at right angles and inserted into pairs of holes drilled in the wall and on the bottom, on the reverse of the dish ; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome blue, yellow and ochre. The molded decoration is visible on the rim, wing, wall and bottom. The rim has a corrugated contour, each corrugation being the extension of a long gadroon perpendicular to the rim; the radiating gadroons cover the entire face of the wing and wall up to the bottom, flaring out towards the rim; they are domed on the face and concave on the reverse. The bottom is also decorated with radiating gadroons, with the exception of the center of the bottom, which is slightly domed; the narrower gadroons on the bottom are not aligned with those on the wall. The painted decoration affects both the wing and the back. On the wing, the garland is made up of a series of stems curving outwards at the top and traced in blue; they are trimmed in places with spirals traced in ochre and painted in yellow, on the outer and inner sides alternately. The background is adorned with a long leafy stem painted in blue and surmounted by two large flowers, probably a tulip, painted in sequence with the border garland.
