Gadroon dish
The dish is complete. It is circular in shape with a wavy rim. The wing is domed and wide, and the wall slopes towards the bottom; the bottom is slightly domed. On the reverse, the bottom is made of a domed ring and the center is slightly recessed and flat. There are two aligned, circular mounting holes on the wing near the edge of the top; the holes are not quite on a horizontal plane, and their interior is free of glaze. The body is a pinkish-beige color, and the object is covered with a white glaze; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome blue, yellow and ochre. The molded decoration is visible on the rim, wing, wall and bottom. The rim has a corrugated contour, each corrugation being the extension of a long gadroon perpendicular to the rim; the radiating gadroons cover the entire face of the wing and wall up to the bottom, flaring out towards the rim; they are domed on the face and concave on the reverse. The bottom is also decorated with radiating gadroons, with the exception of the center of the bottom, which is slightly domed; the narrower gadroons on the bottom are not aligned with those on the wall. The painted decoration affects both the wing and the back. The wing is decorated with a garland of short stems with leaves at the base, alternating between blue, ochre and yellow; the ends of the stems curve outwards. The background is adorned with a large flower, probably a tulip, painted in sequence with the border garland.
