Dish

The dish is complete; there is a slight lack of enamel on the rim and a crack. The dish is circular with a wavy outline. In cross-section, the rim is slightly swollen, the marli is sloping and concave; the wall is very low and curved towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, the cross-section is truncated cone-shaped with a flat base; the base is rounded all around. Three traces of linear, triangular beads are visible under the marli. The inner glaze is bluish-white. The support point and base show traces of wear. The inner base shows small linear marks. The decoration is hand-painted in cobalt blue. It is of the lambrequin type. The decoration is on the husband and on the bottom. The decoration on the marli consists of a row of lambrequins in two alternating patterns. One mantling is circular with a blue background and is decorated, in reserve, with a round fruit; three beaded stems hang from it. The other mantling is trifoliate with a blue background, and features a leaf in reserve with blue veins. The background is adorned with a wavy star medallion, made of blue-ground mantling, decorated with leaves and Ruyi heads. They come in two different shapes; the larger ones have their outlines traced in reserve, and are bordered by leafy, trifoliate stems. The smaller one features a detached motif with a blue background, decorated with flowers in reserve, from which acanthus leaves hang. The center is circular and in reserve: it features a leafy, flowering stem.
