Cut

The cut is complete. It is circular with a plain rim. The rim is flared, and the low wall curves towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, it rests on a ring-shaped foot with a flat, glaze-free base. The body is a pinkish-beige color, and the object is covered with a pinkish-white glaze. The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and bird type. The decoration is painted on the inner wall under the rim and in the center of the base. The wall is decorated with an annular braid, outlined with a fillet. It is decorated with two repeated motifs. The main motif consists of a double lattice decorated with pearls in one case, and crosses in the other. It is interrupted by a leaf composed of three trifoliate motifs with blue-painted heart and veins, above three tailed pearls, which is set between a band and an arched fillet. The background decoration features a bird standing on a leafy stem, seen in profile to the right, its head turned back towards an insect in flight. The bird is surrounded by a chain of alternately repeated ovals and lozenges; the ovals have two lines, while the lozenges have only one.
