Cut
The bowl is complete; broken, it has been repaired with glue. It is circular in shape with a plain rim; the glaze around the rim has largely disappeared. It has a very narrow, flat wing and a sloping wall towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, it rests on a ring-shaped foot in line with the wall, with no enamel at the base; the bottom is recessed and flat. The body is pinkish-beige in color, and the object is covered with a translucent enamel of uneven thickness, with areas of enamel concentration opaque. There is a defect on the inner wall. The wall is pierced by a small circular hole, the inside of which is enamel-free; the decoration is hand-painted in blue on the face. It features a plant motif in the Kraak style from China. It is painted on the rim, wall and base in pale and very pale blue. The inner rim is decorated with a double fillet, as is the base of the wall, the fillets encircling the decoration. The decoration is composed of six terraces, each made up of three wide horizontal strokes; they are arranged in staggered rows, and those near the bottom are topped by a stylized plant motif made up of radiating strokes. This motif is also found between the terraces. The background is framed by a double fillet; it features two superimposed terraces, with the central one also topped by a stylized plant motif with radiating lines. The decoration is flawed.
