Cut

The cut is complete. It is circular in shape with a plain rim. The rim is straight, and the low wall curves towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, it rests on a ring-shaped foot, the base of which is flat and partly free of glaze. The foot is pierced by two aligned circular mounting holes, the inside of which is covered with glaze. The body is beige, and the object is covered with a bluish-white glaze. There are three traces of a pernette in a triangular pattern on the reverse; the decoration is hand-painted in blue. It can be found on the inner base and on the reverse. The inner base is set in a double ring and comprises a central and a peripheral decoration. The peripheral decoration is divided into two groups of alternating compartments of unequal width. The wider ones are decorated with plant and floral motifs. Separated from the wider ones by vertical double lines, the narrower ones feature a plant motif in reserve on a blue-painted background. The central decoration is encircled by a double ring; it is an outdoor scene with two figures in oriental-style clothing, visible from three quarters, one of whom is seated in an armchair, while the other is standing behind him. They are surrounded by shrubs, trees and mountains. The background is blurred. The reverse features a wide ribbon separated into three zones by a broad stroke; each zone is decorated with a row of vertical strokes, the longest in the center, flanked by strokes of decreasing length.
