Cut

The cut is complete; there are cracks in various places. It is circular in shape, with a flared rim and corrugated edges. The wall flares towards the rim and curves towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, it rests on a ring-shaped foot, the base of which is free of glaze. The center is recessed and flat. It shows traces of small radiating grooves. The foot is imprinted with fine gravel. There is a slight defect in the glaze on the inner base ; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue on the front and reverse of the object. The molded decoration is a small vertical bulge at the junction of the wall and the bottom. The painted decoration is animal-like, in the Kraak style from China. The inner surface of the object is entirely decorated. There is a wavy fillet near the edge. The wall is decorated with a row of oval medallions with pointed tops; their outer perimeter is made of a double fillet. Each houses an object or flower, alternating in pairs; each object is different and ribboned, and approaches the emblems of the Eight Immortals if not the Eight Precious Objects. Between these medallions are scrolls. The central decoration is surrounded by concentric octagons with concave sides and pointed corners, one solid and the other in reserve. The main decoration consists of a bird, seen in profile and perched on a rock, surrounded by leafy stems in bloom; above the bird, a butterfly twirls. On the reverse, the bowl is lined with compartments; they are delimited by a fillet that divides towards the edge, and closed at the ends by a line, the one near the edge being wavy and the other, double, at the junction of the wall with the foot. They are trimmed with five elongated pearls arranged in a cross.
