Cup lid
the lid is complete. It is circular in shape, with a plain, elevated contour; its top is slightly inclined towards the rim, and it has a gripping knob in the center. The knob is shaped like a high ring, slightly flared outwards, with a domed top. The inner wall is recessed; the decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze, with touches of gilding, in the Imari style. It is decorated with flowers and medallions. The painted decoration is visible on the outer top, on the rim and on the inner wall. The decoration on the top is framed by two blue lines and occupies the entire surface; it consists of two medallions and a group of two flowering stems, arranged in a triangle. The two medallions are outlined in blue, and feature a plant motif with a double-sloped building, outlined and painted in blue and red. The two stems are decorated with flowers traced and painted in blue, and topped by a flower traced in red and painted in gold. Between these elements are straight vertical stems with fern-like leaves, traced in blue and trimmed with flowers traced in red and painted gold, which are interrupted in two places by a massive straight stem, traced in blue and painted faded blue, and trimmed with leaves at the top. This decoration rests on a fine blue braid, which houses a row of red ogives. The center of the knob is adorned with a small flower traced in red and painted gold. The rim is coated with a wide blue-painted braid. The center of the reverse of the lid is adorned with a double ring traced in blue, housing a leafy stem traced and painted in blue, and surmounted by a flower traced in red and painted in gold. The top of the lid rim is coated in iron brown.
