Cup
The cup is complete. It is circular in shape. In profile, the cup has a wall that flares slightly at the top, topped by a slightly flared rim. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is flat. It rests on a ring-shaped foot. The outer edge of the foot is beveled and free of glaze. The bottom is flat and recessed; the decoration covers the outside of the cup, and the inside bottom. The decoration is hand-painted; it is of the floral type, treated in polychrome enamels of pink, green, blue, red and black on Famille rose glaze, with touches of gilding and a brown coating, known as Batavia. The outer surface is covered with a shiny, iron-based brown coating, which also covers the top of the rim. The wall features three leaf-shaped areas in reserve. These areas are adorned with the same vegetal decoration, consisting of a flower traced in black and painted pink, surrounded by leaves traced in black and painted green and blue, from which emerge slender leaves traced in orange-red. Two other flowers, surrounded by leaves, are outlined in black and painted red with gilding. The inner background features a flower outlined in black and painted red, surrounded by leaves outlined in black and painted green.
