Container

Birch bark container of Native American origin. Pieces of birch bark are sewn together with thin strips of spruce root. A wooden trim is attached to the rim of the container to strengthen it. The rim is circular, the base square. The surfaces of the container are waterproofed with a clay-based mixture inside and out.
