Compotier

The compotier is complete. The compotier is poly-lobed with an undulating contour. In cross-section, the rim is bulging, the wing is slightly sloping, and the wall slopes more steeply towards the bottom, before curving towards the flat bottom. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a glossy white enamel. There are smudges of enamel under the compotier, near the rim, as well as chips under the bottom and a few small holes in the enamel on the reverse. Three traces of linear and triangular pernettes are visible under the wall ; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue underglaze. It features stylized embroidery in the Bérain style. The molded decoration is visible on the rim, edge, wing and wall. The rim is wavy. The rim features a row of slight swellings perpendicular to the rim. The decoration on the wing features slight swellings perpendicular to the contour and aligned with the concave parts. The wall also features vertical swellings, aligned with the previous ones. The decoration is painted on both the wing and the base. The wing is decorated with a double fillet near the edge, bordering a row of acanthus leaves and scrolls similar to embroidery, repeated in alternation. Among these elements are regularly spaced, circular, cross-hatched four-petal flowers. The background is decorated with a medallion of elements similar to those on the marli, surrounding an antique-style female bust on a rectangular base, itself seated on acanthus leaves.
