Compotier
The compotier is complete; the fixing holes are broken and have been repaired with plaster. The compotier is octagonal with a plain contour. In cross-section, the wing is inclined, almost in line with the wall, also inclined towards the bottom before curving towards the flat bottom. The bottom rests on an annular foot with a truncated cone-shaped cross-section. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a bluish-white glaze; the foot’s support point is unglazed. There are enamel smudges under the compotier, near the rim, as well as a few small holes in the enamel on the reverse. Three traces of linear and triangular pernettes are visible under the wall. The foot is pierced by two aligned circular holes, the inside of which is covered with enamel; one of the holes is broken; the decoration is hand-painted in two-tone. It was traced and painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and floral basket type. The decoration is painted on the wing and in the center of the background. The wing is decorated with a blue braid. The braid is decorated with two alternating motifs. One is in reserve on a blue-painted background: it consists of mirrored elements composed of a central half-flower surrounded by two scrolls followed by two quarter-flowers. These flowers are adorned with red radiating lines. The other motif is a latticework in red. These two motifs are separated by a half-flower made of red radiating lines with a blue-painted core; it is set in two blue-painted arched bands, while the sides are in reserve. The background is decorated with a flowering basket. The basket has a truncated cone shape on a flat swollen base and a flat swollen rim; it is outlined in blue and filled with a latticework painted red; the rendering of the basket imitates rattan. From the top of the basket emerge a central half-flower framed by two flowers; they are surrounded by leafy stems and grapes. The flowers and some of the leaves are outlined in blue and partially filled in with red radiating lines, while some of the leaves and grapes are painted blue. The basket rests on a sort of ironwork-like support, the elements of which are arranged in a mirror-like fashion. It consists of a series of double acanthus leaves curved upwards and linked by a semicircular arch. Beneath the center of the support is a three-lobed pearl; another pearl is flanked by two plant stems curved in a semicircle and topped with pearls. These elements are outlined in blue and adorned with red lines.
