Coffee maker reproduction
The coffee maker is complete. It is circular in shape. Its wall is tapered towards the top, which has a bulging rim. The base is slightly rounded and rests on three conical feet; the bottom is recessed and flat. The handle is vertical. Oval in shape and cross-section, its upper end rests on the wall, below the rim, while the other is folded down and rests on the wall, presenting an undulation. The pouring spout, attached to the base of the wall, is tubular and set at an angle; its top is curved outwards at right angles and its end is almost straight. There is a mark painted in black under the base: R. Delarue Desvres F. main 993. ; The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome of red, blue, yellow, green and black. It is of the chinoiserie type. It covers the outer surface. The main decoration is encircled by a band with a yellow background, adorned with scrolls and foliage painted in black. The side walls feature two different scenes: one depicts three Chinese figures on the bank of a river; the other shows various Oriental-style buildings, temples or pagodas, which are surrounded by trees. The handle is adorned with red-painted foliage and a black lateral line, while the spout is decorated with red-painted plant motifs. The three feet are painted blue.
