Coffee maker
The coffee pot is complete; it has a long curved crack. It is piriform. Its wall is swollen and surmounted by a tapered neck at the top; the top is straight and flat. The coffeepot rests on a small annular foot, the base of which is free of glaze and stained with black matter. The bottom is recessed and flat; the glaze on the bottom, near its junction with the foot, has been wiped off. The coffee pot has a vertical handle; folded down at its upper end, it is attached to the neck. The lower part of the handle is attached to the wall, then slightly detached; the end is straight. The pouring spout is elongated and tubular; vertical, it curves outwards at mid-height. Attached at the junction of the wall and neck, it tapers towards the top. It communicates with the interior through an oval hole in the wall. The beak ends in a half-oval opening. There’s a mark printed in blue below the bottom: C, a solid crescent. There is a long fissure from the bottom to the wall ; The decoration is molded, transfer printed and hand-painted; it is blue in color with the Fence motif. The molded decoration is visible on the handle. Ear-shaped and oval in cross-section, the handle has a slight plateau bulge on its outer surface. At the top, it features a vertically raised poucier with a domed top; the base of the handle is folded in on itself to form a simplified scroll. The painted decoration is located under the outer rim: it consists of two superimposed horizontal rings, some of which have leaked. Printed decoration is visible on the two opposite walls, adjoining the handle and spout, as well as on the pouring spout. The main decoration is applied to the wall and neck: it is the same decoration on both opposite sides. The decoration consists of two distinct areas separated by a stream. The foreground area, on dry land, has as its main element a fence made of a few sections: two are set in a V-shape, while the others are arranged in a zig-zag pattern. The fence sections are cross-hatched, with a small, three-lobed opening in the center. A boulder borders the fence on the right, while a three-tiered one adjoins it on the left. Leafy and flowering plant stems of varying scales adjoin the fence, including a long stem that extends upwards and to the left, towards the island; they are cross-hatched. The island is elongated and cross-hatched. It is topped by a hut with a domed straw roof, flanked by two trees; a four-lobed rock borders the island at water level. Waves made of horizontal lines strike the island and the rock. At the foot of the island stand two stylized plant ensembles and three small, triangular rocks. Above the island fly two birds; seen in profile to the left, they follow each other, one wing pointing upwards and the other downwards. The upper part of the spout, near the inner edge, is adorned with a small leafy plant stem. A long leafy stem with a central flower runs the full length of the spout on the outside. A geometric lattice pattern has been applied to the outside of the handle. Portions of the decoration have leaked.
