Claret jug
The jug is complete, except for a chip on the rim and a missing handle. It is circular and pear-shaped. The neck is straight, topped by a straight rim with a flat top and a small spout. The shoulder is rounded and the wall is domed. It rests on a domed base. The handle is vertical and solid. Oval in shape and cross-section, its upper end is turned down and rests on the neck, while the other rests on the wall ; The decoration is molded and carved. Moulded decoration is visible on the handle. The carved decoration is visible on the neck and under the base. The handle, which has been molded separately, is decorated with angular ribs all around the rim. The upper end of the handle is oval; it has been crushed on the neck and its rim is corrugated. The lower end of the handle is flared and pointed. The neck, with the exception of the handle area, is decorated with long vertical flutes with rounded ends. The underside of the dome-shaped base is adorned with a carved star.
