Carafe stopper

The cork is made up of two parts: a head and a lug. The head is shaped like an elongated cone. It rests on a short strangled stem, which joins it to the tenon. The tenon is solid and truncated cone-shaped. The underside of the tenon is flat and polished. The base of the tenon appears to have been blackened by fire. The tenon is worn but does not appear to have been frosted ; The decoration is molded and carved. The cork head is shaped like a cone, with the surface cut into diamond-shaped facets.
