Historical context

This button commemorates the Battle of Saint-Eustache on December 14, 1837, and Jean-Olivier Chénier’s role in the Patriote rebellions.
This battle was the third of the Patriote rebellions. The Patriotes were in a delicate situation. They won the battle of Saint-Denis, but were defeated at Saint-Charles.
