Butter dish holder

The butter dish holder is complete. It is shaped like a small oval plate with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, with a low wall that curves towards the flat bottom. Two horizontal U-shaped handles are applied to the ends of the rim. It rests on an annular foot with a triangular cross-section. The bottom is recessed and flat. There is a blue-painted mark below the base: C, a crescent that appears to be solid ; The decoration is molded and applied by transfer printing; it is blue in color and features the Fence motif. The molded decoration is visible on the handles. Molded separately, they are wavy and their ends are finished with flowers and leaves molded in relief. Printed decoration is visible on the face. The decoration on the wing is delimited by a fillet near the edge; it consists of two leafy, flowering stems bordering an insect; the decoration varies slightly on the upper and lower wings. The main decoration is on the background, and consists of two distinct areas separated by a stream. The foreground area, on dry land, has as its main element a fence made of a few sections: two are straight, while the others are arranged in a zig-zag pattern. The fence sections are decorated with hatching, with a small, three-lobed opening in the center. A rock borders the fence on the right. Leafy and flowering plant stems of varying scales adjoin the fence, including a long stem extending upwards and to the left, towards the island; they are cross-hatched. The island is elongated and cross-hatched. It is topped by a hut with a curved straw roof, flanked by three trees; a lobed rock borders the island at water level. Waves made of horizontal lines strike the island and the rock. Two groups of plants stand out at the foot of the island. Above the island fly two birds; seen in profile to the left, they follow each other, one wing pointing up and the other down.
