Butter dish holder
The butter dish holder is complete; it has one crack. It is shaped like a small circular plate with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is low and curves towards the flat bottom. It rests on a milled foot whose flat, wide base is free of glaze. The bottom is recessed and flat. There is a blue-painted mark below the bottom, which resembles a cursive W; The decoration is applied by transfer printed; it is blue in color and features the Fence motif. The printed design is visible on the face. The main motif is surrounded by a ribbon near the edge; it consists of a row of rectangles with radiating dashes and a central pearl. The main decor is composed of two distinct areas separated by a stream. The foreground area, on dry land, has as its main element a fence made of a few sections: two are straight, while the others are arranged in a zig-zag pattern. The fence sections are cross-hatched, with a small, three-lobed opening in the middle. Leafy and flowering plant stems of varying scales adjoin the fence, including a long stem that extends upwards and to the left, towards the island; these are cross-hatched. The island is elongated and cross-hatched. It is topped by a hut with a curved straw roof, flanked by three trees; a lobed rock borders the island at water level. Waves made of horizontal lines strike the island and the rock. At the foot of the island, two small rocks emerge. Above the island fly two birds; seen in profile to the left, they follow each other, one wing pointing up and the other down.
