Black and white portrait photograph of Alexander MacDonnell (1760-1840), soldier and political figure in Upper Canada. He was elected to the 3rd Parliament of Upper Canada representing Glengarry and Prescott, serving until 1816. He was Speaker of the House from 1804 to 1808. From 1831 to 1834, he was President of the District Council, the last to sit before the formation of Toronto City Council in 1834.
