Box cigar
This wooden cigar box features an opening lid with an oxidized metal panture. The lid is engraved on the top with a dog and text at the top and bottom of the illustration. An illustration is also painted on the inside of the lid depicting a caduceus, with initials painted on the left, and a deet motif and a laurel or olive leaf motif on the right, symbolizing commerce and eloquence. It was originally a cigar box, depicting the legend of the Golden Dog by sculptor Hubert Boyer, and sold at the Centrale d’Artisanat de Montréal.
