Bottle
The bottle is complete; a small chip is missing from the neck. It is circular in shape. In cross-section, it has a domed wall, a rounded shoulder and a high, straight neck with a horizontal, swollen ring at mid-height; the neck flares out towards the neck, which is flat and wide at the top. The wall is tapered towards the base, which is flared; the bottom is flat. The handle is vertical with a long top sloping towards the neck; its upper end rests on the swollen ring of the neck, while its lower portion is turned down and rests on the wall, flaring out. The body is beige. The outer surface of the bottle, with the exception of the lower portion of the outer wall and the underside of the base, is covered in green glaze; however, there is a long drip on this area of the wall. The wall has a vertical crevice and the lower part of the wall appears to have been shaped by the potter’s fingers. There appears to be an engraved mark on the glaze-free part of the wall, near the handle: S P.; the decoration is molded. The handle, which has been molded separately, has a central bulge on its inner surface. The lower part of the outer wall is free of glaze.
