Bottle

The bottle is complete. It is cylindrical in shape. The neck is slightly tapered towards the shoulder, which is rounded, while the wall is tapered towards the base, which is flared. The bottom is flat. The bottle is fitted with a vertical strap handle, the top of which is attached to the neck ring, while its lower end is turned down and rests on the shoulder. The body is beige in color and covered with a shiny beige-white glaze. There is a blue painted inscription on the shoulder and wall, in three registers: MOSES MYERS NORFOLK 1792, followed by a ribbon. There is an intaglio mark below the base, in the shape of a semicircle: JAMESTOWN POTTERY ; None, except for the whiteness of the enamel.
