Beauty cream pot
The pot is complete, with only a few glaze chips missing from the top of the rim. The pot is pear-shaped with a truncated top. In cross-section, the body is swollen at the base and tapers towards the rim, which is straight. The pot rests on a small annular foot, the base of which is unglazed; the bottom is recessed and flat. The inner base is conical. The body is dark red and covered with a white glaze, heavily cracked on the inside. The mantling decoration is matte and appears overfired; the decoration is traced and hand-painted in a two-tone blue and violet underglaze on the outside of the piece. It is geometric in shape and consists of mantling. It is divided into four zones: under the rim, the top and base of the body, and the foot. The painted decoration below the rim is a horizontal fillet, bordering the main decoration. One is a poly-lobed tongue with a blue background, decorated in reserve with a Ruyi head surmounting a three-lobed motif, all traced in purple. The other motif is a three-lobed one with a blue background, decorated in reserve with a leaf traced in violet and adorned with veins; from this element hang three leafy stems. The base of the wall is decorated with a row of plant motifs painted in blue and sitting on a purple fillet; they are separated by triangles painted in succession. The junction of the wall and the base is adorned with a wide blue-painted fillet.
