Historical context
Since 2016, the arrow sash has been part of Quebec’s intangible heritage. The result of complex finger-weaving and thread-weaving techniques, it was worn at least from the 18th century onwards by Canadian and Métis voyageurs hired by the North West Company (which later merged with the Hudson’s Bay Company) for the fur trade.
